Tuesday is lab day so Elizabeth brought me to Cooley Dickinson Hospital this morning to have my blood drawn. Everything went smoothly and we went back to my house so I could take my medications. I've had a headache since yesterday on top of the usual side effects so I was just relaxing in my recliner and watching TV when the heart transplant team called me. It was around 1:30 pm. They informed me that my white blood cell count is high. I was instructed that orders have been placed for blood cultures, urine cultures and a chest X-ray to make sure that I do not have an infection brewing. I don't feel like I have an infection but all the medications that I take could be masking the signs and symptoms. Elizabeth and I headed back to Cooley to have the diagnostic studies completed. I will await the results and a call from the transplant team.
