Today I'm not feeling very good. I'm shaky, weak, nauseous, and my head is foggy but honestly not as bad as it could be...
I received a call from the heart transplant team with the results of my biopsy and blood work. Meaghan NP informed me that the wedge pressures from my right heart cath procedure were actually low and she recommended that I increase my fluids as well as adding a little more salt to my diet. It was so weird to hear someone say that because I have instructed to follow a low sodium diet for so long. Obviously, I can't go crazy with the sodium. I eant to take care of my heart. I will continue a heart healthy diet.
My biopsy results are 1A 1R which I was told means no rejection. Fantastic news! I'm always really anxious waiting for the pathology results. I hope my heart never rejects! I was instructed to decrease my prednisone dose it will be a taper so I will decrease it on a weekly basis until my next biopsy in one month. I'm looking forward to seeing how I feel with less prednisone in my body. My Tacrolimus level was 8.4 so I will continue on the same dose 2 mg twice a day. I was told that my blood levels indicate that I'm a little anemic and if they are still low next week when I have blood drawn they will prescribe an iron supplement for the anemia. I have been having headaches for a while and I contribute them to my medications but the team wants to make sure that it is not something anatomical so they have ordered a cat scan of my head which is scheduled for next Tuesday morning at Cooley Dickinson. I will have my weekly blood drawn while I'm there.
The benefit for me is in two days! How exciting! There are so many great baskets for the raffle. A patio heater, TV, fire pit, Red sox tickets, Patriots tickets, 4 some golf certificates, a football signed by Gronk and so much more!!!! People and companies have been so generous! I know I said it before but I am so overwhelmed by the support! My heart is full ❤️
Thank you to everyone for your support and generosity!!!!!!!!!!
