The heart transplant Np Megan called me to inform me that the biopsy done yesterday was OR- No Rejection!!! I'm so happy to hear this news! My body and my new heart are getting acclimated!! I was very anxious about it because I felt so lousy last week and especially over the weekend. I will have another biopsy in 1 month. Woohooo!
My Tacrolimus ( anti rejection medication) level was a little low so I have to increase my bedtime dose but I get to decrease my Prednisone dose from 30mg to 25mg daily! They are going to start me on Prevastatin this is used to protect the coronary arteries from CAV. Cardiac allograft vasculopathy (CAV) is a condition that affects transplanted hearts. It causes the blood vessels supplying blood to the heart muscle itself to become narrowed and eventually blocked.
Next week we will go to Cooley Dickinson Hospital for my lab work.
This is all great news and I'm feeling so relieved. I'm really hoping that my new special heart finds my body to be a good home.❤️
