Cookie Crumbles

Well I made it through my busy week. I had some ups and downs but I did it ! Cardiac rehabilitation went good. I'm still at about 7 minutes for each piece of exercise equipment even when I'm not feeling strong. I'll take that as a win! I attended rehab on Monday and Tuesday this week.

Wednesday we went to Boston for my iron infusion appointment. I was really anxious because I was concerned that I might have an adverse reaction to the iron. I endure side effects that make me feel lousy on a daily basis and I didn't want things to get worse. When the nurse was explaining the possible complications from the iron infusion I had to laugh because most of them are essentially the same side effects that I sustain with my anti rejection medications. I told her this and she said " well then if you develop hives or have difficulty breathing go to the ER". Thankfully, I tolerated it sufficiently but I did experience some nausea and dizziness after it was completed and I continued to feel this way for the remainder of the day. Unfortunately, I have not encountered a boost in my energy level yet but it is a two infusion treatment so maybe after the next one I'll notice a difference.

On Thursday the heart transplant team contacted me to inform me that my lab results were within normal limits except for my white blood cell count which was high. I don't have a fever and I don't feel any different than I usually do lately so I'm not too worried about the WBC spike. My Tacrolimus level was low @7.8 so I was instructed to increase my morning dose of the Tacrolimus to 2.5mg. I'm back to 2.5mg twice a day. I was also advised that I would need to get a urine culture and chest X-ray at Cooley Dickinson. Darlene and Sarah brought me. We had an adventure for sure! My chest X-ray was fine and I'm still waiting on the results of my urine culture. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful support system in my friends and family! Yesterday my mother brought me to the store to pick up a few things and we stopped at Crumbl Cookie. I bought her a cookie to bring home and she absolutely loved it! Honestly, I think I'm addicted !!

Wishing everyone a sweet day!
